Position Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) conducts research study visits to support the development of medications and therapies for patients with diabetes. This role ensures study activities are completed accurately, safely, and in compliance with sponsor and FDA guidelines. The CRC serves as a key liaison between patients, investigators, sponsors, and study teams, maintaining high standards of data quality, patient care, and regulatory compliance. Flexible hours may occasionally be required to accommodate patient schedules and study visit requirements. CRCs will also participate in on-call rotations as scheduled by leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical studies per GCP/FDA to ensure participant safety.
- Guide investigators on protocol implementation and compliance.
- Screen participants, obtain consent, and confirm eligibility.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate research activities.
- Communicate with sponsors, sub-sites, and vendors on study progress and issues.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine), start IVs, record vitals, and perform ECGs.

Position Summary
The Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) supports the development of medications and therapies for patients with diabetes by assisting with research study visits and ensuring study procedures are conducted efficiently and accurately. This role works closely with Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) to support patients, manage study supplies, collect data, and maintain compliance with sponsor and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for study visits by pulling supplies, prepping devices, charging equipment, and initializing systems.
- Assist CRCs during study procedures including vitals, ECGs, HbA1c checks, blood sugars, urinalysis, and protocol-specific procedures.
- Assist with filing, updating data logs, and uploading device data into electronic systems for research collection.
- Manage and communicate study supply inventory with CRCs to ensure visit readiness.
- Organize and unbox study supplies at trial start and document destruction at study completion.
- Operate in-clinic devices for blood sugar checks and CGM accuracy validation.
- Room patients and clean exam rooms following visits.
- Complete eCRF training and ensure accurate, timely data entry.
- Enter study data within three days of visits and assist with EDC queries.
- Complete special projects as assigned by leadership.

- Hours are 7:30am – 4pm.

The Billing and Finance Specialist supports the financial and operational functions of Iowa Diabetes and its related entities. This role ensures that accounting, billing, and insurance processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational policies. The Specialist serves as a key liaison between the clinic, patients, insurance providers, and internal teams, maintaining high standards of financial accuracy and operational integrity. This position also assists with intercompany account management, reconciliations, and special projects as assigned by leadership, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger, prepare financial statements, and support accurate financial reporting.
- Review, code, and verify transactions and journal entries; research and resolve discrepancies.
- Process accounts payable and receivable; assist with trial balances and ensure accuracy in QuickBooks.
- Submit insurance claims for clinic services and patient education; follow up with insurers and post payments.
- Manage clinic billing processes, patient invoices, and staff credentialing.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and manage invoicing for related entities.
- Participate in meetings with leadership and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Support special projects and provide backup assistance to the Finance Manager as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
